December Newsletter- Merry Christmas

Christmas time is here! Mrs. Pennington is working hard to kick off our “Stocking Full of Love” drive to help with those less fortunate in our Woodstation community. The Stocking Full of Love drive is seeking new toys and can food items to brighten the holiday for some families here in our community. The goal of our participation in this program is not only to help those that are in need, but to teach life lessons and character traits such as generosity and compassion.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO??  The Catoosa Children's Fund is where our students get help for utilities, gas vouchers, under clothing, etc.   Please see Mrs. Pennington if you have more questions. Our Woodstation Staff would like to thank parents, in advance, for your support and willingness to share during this season of giving.

Our Woodstation PTO will be presenting The Woodstation Singers 7th annual Christmas Dessert Theater on Tuesday, December 15th, in the Woodstation Elementary School Gymnasium. I am excited and looking forward to a great show.

**********This is where you could add Dr. Lane’s information:

We appreciate parents working with us on signing in before visiting the building in the mornings, if we can cut down on unannounced parent conferences with teachers we think we can allow teachers more time to work with students who need extra support during early morning hours (morning is very valuable for teachers to work one on one with students, it hard to come by during the school day). Thank you for your support of this wonderful effort teachers are making to support learning for students. I also need you help in the afternoons while waiting to pick up your students, please remember that Woodstation as all Catoosa County Schools are smoke free campus. Please keep an eye on the car in front of you while talking / texting on your phone, so no accidents happen.

Teachers and students are working hard to get ready for the end of year assessment Georgia Milestones in April. Both Star Math and Reading will be given to our students in December and January to help teachers pinpoint areas of weakness and strengths. Some of the homework that teachers will be sending home will be review and practice for students and is very important for improving skills that are needed to be developed for preparation for the Georgia Milestone Test; we do appreciate your support with these drills and skills development.

Our lost and found is growing every day, please help us and put your child’s name on the tag or inside of their jacket and coat. This will help us locate your child and return their items back to which they belong. Thanks for your help with this it very much appreciated. All items that are not claimed during Christmas break will be donated to Christ Chapel.

Have a blessed holiday season and a safe Christmas Break and a Happy New Year!

Go Woodstation Generals,

Mr. Ellis
