My name is Jayne Black and I am Woodstation's Title l Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator. My primary role is to support parents and provide information on how you can be fully engaged in your child's education. I encourage you to visit our Family Resource Center (Room 120) to learn about the many ways you can be involved and how to fully participate in your child's education. Georgia Milestones Information for grades 3-5
It is hard to believe it is already March! Our students and teachers are working very hard to get ready for the upcoming Georgia Milestones Assessment. All students enrolled in third through eighth grade in Georgia schools are required to take this test. It’s designed to measure the knowledge and skills taught in Georgia classrooms. It will assess skills in the areas of reading, English/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Students will be assessed on how well they have learned the Georgia Standards of Excellence that have been established by the state for their grade.

At Woodstation, Georgia Milestones testing will be administered:

ELA Writing – April 20

ELA Reading – April 21

Math – April 22

Science – April 23 (5th grade only)
Social Studies – April 24 (5th grade only)

Results from this test will be provided to you, the school, and the school system as a tool to help enrich the educational program that we offer your child. Everyone has partnered together through our FAST program this year and our students have achieved so much!

We Want to Keep You In the Know!
We want parents to be an active part in decision making at WES. We want you to know that as a parent of a child attending a Title l school, you have the right to request any meetings you feel are necessary at any time by contacting Jayne Black, Family Engagement Coordinator at jblack.wes@catoosa.k12.ga.us or (706) 935-6700. We are committed to providing opportunities for parents to attend regular meetings to formulate suggestions, share experiences, and participate in decisions related to the education of your child.
