March Newsletter

Dear Woodstation Family,

It is hard to believe it is already March, and we are down to only three months left in this school year! Our students and teachers are working very hard to get ready for the upcoming Georgia Milestones test. All students enrolled in third through eighth grade in Georgia schools are required to take the Georgia Milestones test. This test is designed to measure the knowledge and skills taught in Georgia classrooms. It will assess these skills in the areas of reading, English/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Students will be assessed on how well they have learned the academic standards that have been established by the state for their grade.

At Woodstation, this test will be administered:

• ELA Reading – April 18th

• ELA Writing – April 19th

• Math – April 20th

• Science – April 21st

• Social Studies – April 22nd

Results from this test will be provided to you, the school, and the school system as a tool to help enrich the educational program that we offer your child. I’m so pleased with the hard work of our Generals (students and teachers) this year. Everyone has worked so well together so that our students can learn as much as possible.

I know our teachers have prepared your students to be successful. I am looking forward to seeing our students rise to the challenge and do their very best!

Go Generals!
