Januray Newsletter

Dear Woodstation Family members,

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas break and a Awesome start to a new year! We are excited to start the second half of this school year and are ready to work hard to prepare students to focus on meeting their goals. Report cards will be coming home on January 12th. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have questions concerning grades on your child’s report card. We have only thirteen weeks to get everyone ready for the Georgia Milestones. We are working hard to make sure everyone is ready. Thank you for your on-going support of Woodstation Elementary and our efforts to educate your children.

If you arrive after 8:00 a.m. your child is tardy. Our school’s policy is for an adult to come inside with the child and sign them in at the main office. This is for their safety and helps us know your child has arrived at school and is accounted for. Also, please do not pull around another car during morning drop off in the car line. This can be a dangerous issue with children getting out on both sides of the cars or trucks. Thank you for your help with this as always.

As winter falls on us this year, it is a good time to remind you of the importance of updating your Inclement Weather / Emergency Dismissal Form if needed. This is the form that provides us with instructions how to send students home in case of early dismissal for inclement weather. You may update this form in the main office with all possible friends or relatives who would have permission to pick up your child if you were unable to.

Our teachers will be scheduling parent/teacher conference week the week of February 27th to March 3rd from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. to help answer any questions you may have with your child’s progress. A sign-up sheet will be coming home with your child, so please feel free to sign-up to talk with your child’s teacher.

Lastly, we are sadly seeing a large number of jackets in our lost & found. We hate to see so many children possibly going cold, so please make sure to write your child’s initials or name on the tag of their coat or jacket.

Go Woodstation Generals!
